Dr. Cherin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. With a strong commitment to advancing patient care and medical education, Dr. Cherin has authored over 19 publications focused on improving patient functionality, particularly in musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders.
As the Consult Director for the department and the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSKUS) Curriculum Director for the residency program, Dr. Cherin plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of clinicians. She also leads an outpatient clinic specializing in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), where she integrates MSK Ultrasound as a key diagnostic and treatment tool to optimize care for her patients.
Dr. Cherin is deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring, taking an innovative approach to education with a focus on hands-on, immersive learning experiences. She has designed and implemented a novel, simulation-based MSKUS curriculum that enhances residents' clinical skills and prepares them for real-world challenges in musculoskeletal care.
Currently, Dr. Cherin is leading several research projects dedicated to improving the quality of care for patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). In addition, she is working to establish a multidisciplinary clinic specifically tailored to the complex needs of individuals with EDS, further advancing comprehensive care and collaboration across specialties.
