Neurocritical Care Fellow
University of Washington
Alex Brahmsteadt, DO, completed PM&R residency at University of Michigan in 2024 and is currently a neurocritical care fellow at the University of Washington. His clinical and academic interests lie in the intersection between early rehabilitation and critical illness, particularly regarding the brain injury and spinal cord injury populations. During fellowship, he has developed an interest in the balance between necessary early medical decision making and the conundrum of early prognostication in a patient population largely dependent on surrogate decision makers, and how this relationship effects mortality and long-term functional outcomes in patients with moderate to severe central nervous system injury.
