Dr. Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez is a Professor and Distinguished Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. She is a renowned expert in rehabilitation medicine, with clinical and research expertise in Long COVID, brain injury, stroke, spasticity management, and health equity. Dr. Gutierrez is the Medical Director of Critical Illness Recovery and Neuro Rehabilitation at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospitals and Chief of the PM&R service line at University Health. A prolific author with over 100 publications, she leads initiatives advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine and serves as a co-investigator in the NIH RECOVER trial and AHRQ grant for Long Covid care.
