Leadership training for physicians is critical and associated with better clinical outcomes, higher patient satisfaction, and better financial performance, and stronger leadership is associated with better physician well-being.
Given the lack of longitudinal evaluations of leadership training, the primary aim of this study was to examine the long-term impact of the FLI program on participants in comparison to non-participant faculty members. The findings suggest that the FLI program is effective in fostering both leadership growth and equitable practices. Long-term follow-up and the use of a comparison group strengthen the study’s conclusions. This research underscores the value of leadership programs in promoting career advancement and addressing equity in healthcare leadership.
